Lionel Desclée, CEO
Lionel Desclée is a global business leader with a passion for driving growth and transformation in digital, omnichannel retail, and consumer-facing organizations.
Before joining zooplus as the CEO, he served as Group CEO of The Very Group, a multi-brand online retailer and financial services provider operating in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Prior to that, Lionel Desclée was President and CEO of Walmart Japan and previously served as CEO of the European pet retail chain Tom & Co. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at Delhaize Group, holding senior leadership positions across Europe and the United States.
Lionel Desclée serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at zooplus since September 2025.
Steffen Schüller, CFOO
Steffen Schüller brings extensive experience in finance and operations within the retail sector. He began his career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and subsequently held C-level posi-tions at several leading retail companies, including Lidl Digital, Emil Frey, and Peek & Cloppenburg. In these roles, he was responsible for financial management, operational excellence, and the strategic development of complex international organisations.
Steffen Schüller holds a dual role at zooplus. He serves as both Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
